h-Refinement
Section 5 · Mesh refinement by element subdivision
Concept
h-refinement reduces element size (h) to improve accuracy. Elements near stress concentrations (like holes) have higher error and benefit most from refinement.
The error field is based on distance from the hole center, simulating stress concentration effects.
\( e \propto h^{p+1} \) (error decreases with element size)
